The Non-Resident Ambassador of Belgium to the Maldives, His Excellency Didier Vanderhasselt paid a farewell call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, Her Excellency Iruthisham Adam, this morning.
During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Iruthisham expressed sincere appreciation to Ambassador Didier Vanderhasselt for his dedicated service and valuable contributions towards enhancing the bilateral relations and cooperation between the Maldives and Belgium throughout his tenure.
The Minister and Ambassador Vanderhasselt exchanged views on ways to further strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest and reaffirmed the commitment of the Maldives to continue close collaboration with Belgium in the international fora.
Minister Iruthisham expressed the importance placed by the Government of Maldives to enhance the existing ties of friendship and cooperation with Belgium and extended her best wishes to the Ambassador in his future endeavours. She also expressed support to the incoming Non-Resident Ambassador of Belgium.
The Minister was accompanied by Foreign Secretary, Her Excellency Fathimath Inaya, Secretary, Her Excellency Dr. Hala Hameed, Joint Secretary, Mr. Hassan Hussain Shihab, Senior Political Director, Mr. Ahmed Haanee Naeem and Senior Political Director, Ms. Aaisha Mayaasen Mohamed, during the meeting.
