The Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency Adel Ibrahim, paid a farewell call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency Iruthisham Adam, today, upon the conclusion of his tenure as the Non-Resident Ambassador of Egypt to the Maldives.
During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Iruthisham thanked Ambassador Adel Ibrahim for his dedicated service to strengthening the historic friendship between the Maldives and Egypt. She also reaffirmed the close bilateral relations between the two countries and expressed appreciation for Egypt’s continued support to the Maldives in education and human resource development, particularly through Al-Azhar University.
Ambassador Adel Ibrahim expressed his sincere gratitude to the Government and people of the Maldives for the warm hospitality and friendship extended to him during his tenure. Minister Iruthisham wished Ambassador Adel Ibrahim every success in his future endeavours and assured him of the Government’s full support and cooperation to his successor.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the Maldives and Egypt and expressing confidence that bilateral relations would continue to flourish.
Foreign Minister Iruthisham was accompanied by Foreign Secretary Her Excellency Fathimath Inaya, Secretary Her Excellency Dr. Hala Hameed, Ambassador At Large Dr. Abdullah Shiham Hassan, Additional Secretary Khadeeja Najeeha, and Deputy Desk Officer Fathmath Layana Ihusan.
