The new Ambassador of Maldives to the United Arab Emirates His Excellency Thoriq Ibrahim presented his Letter of Credence to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, today.
During the ceremony held at Qasr Al Watan, His Highness the President welcomed Ambassador Thoriq Ibrahim and congratulated on the commencement of his term and wished him success in undertaking his duties.
Ambassador Thoriq Ibrahim conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, President of the Republic of Maldives, as well as from the Government and the people of the Maldives, to His Highness the President, the Government, and the people of the United Arab Emirates.
Ambassador Thoriq Ibrahim reaffirmed his commitment to further strengthening the longstanding friendship and close bilateral cooperation between the Maldives and the United Arab Emirates during his tenure.
The Maldives and the United Arab Emirates established diplomatic relations on 15 March 1978. His Excellency Thoriq Ibrahim is the seventh Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives accredited to the United Arab Emirates.
