The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency Iruthisham Adam, sends a message of felicitations to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, His Excellency Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, on the occasion of their 79th Independence Day.
Minister’s Message reads as follows;
“On the joyous occasion of the 79th Independence Day of Pakistan, I extend my heartfelt felicitations and warm wishes to Your Excellency and brotherly people of Pakistan.
This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Pakistan, a significant milestone that reflects the enduring bonds of friendship, mutual respect, and close cooperation between our two brotherly countries. I am confident that this special anniversary will provide a renewed opportunity to further deepen our close friendship and expand our cooperation across areas of mutual interest, for the benefit of our two peoples.
The Maldives and Pakistan enjoy longstanding and cordial relations, underpinned by shared faith, mutual respect and close cooperation. I take this opportunity to reaffirm my commitment to further strengthening our bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The Maldives also remains committed to working closely with Pakistan towards revitalising regional cooperation through the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), with a view to fostering greater solidarity, cooperation, and shared prosperity among the peoples of our region.
I look forward to meeting Your Excellency on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in September this year, and to engaging in meaningful exchange on matters of mutual interest.
