Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives, Iruthisham Adam, departed New Delhi after concluding her Official Visit to India, this morning.
During the visit, Minister Iruthisham held a bilateral meeting with the Minister of External Affairs of India, Dr. S. Jaishankar and reviewed the entire gamut of bilateral relations between the two countries. Recalling the long and historic friendship between Maldives and India, both the Ministers also reaffirmed their commitment to continue working closely together to bring renewed dynamism to the relationship between the two countries. Minister Iruthisham also held a meeting with Minister of Commerce and Industry of India, Piyush Goyal and explored expanding economic cooperation and trade relations between the two countries.
Before concluding the visit, Minister Iruthisham engaged with Indian media and highlighted on the longstanding partnership between Maldives and India and outlined future prospects for cooperation.
During the visit, Minister Iruthisham was accompanied by High Commissioner of Maldives to India, Aishath Azeema, Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Ibrahim Zuhuree, Assistant Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Aminath Guraisha, and First Secretary at the High Commission of Maldives in India, Fathimath Liusha.
