The newly appointed Non-resident High Commissioner of the Republic of Fiji to the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency Jagnnath Sami paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, Her Excellency Iruthisham Adam this morning, following the presentation of his Letters of Credence to His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, President of the Republic of Maldives, at a ceremony held at the President’s Office earlier today.
Foreign Minister Iruthisham congratulated High Commissioner Jagnnath Sami on the presentation of his Letters of Credence to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
During the meeting, High Commissioner Jagnnath Sami conveyed his appreciation to the Foreign Minister for her good wishes and assured his commitment to strengthen relations between Maldives and Fiji during his tenure.
The Minister and the High Commissioner discussed areas of mutual interest between the Maldives and Fiji, including tourism and economic initiatives. They also reflected on the importance of working together as fellow Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in the multilateral fora.
Minister Iruthisham Adam was accompanied by Secretary, Her Excellency Dr. Hala Hameed, Minister of State, Her Excellency Dr. Mariyam Zulfa, Senior Political Director, Mr. Ahmed Haanee Naeem and Deputy Desk Officer, Ms. Aminath Maisa Latheef.
