The newly appointed Ambassador of Burkina Faso calls on Foreign Minister Iruthisham Adam

The newly appointed Non-Rresident,  Ambassador of Burkina Faso to the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency Dr. Désiré Boniface Some, paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency Iruthisham Adam, today, following the presentation of his Letter of Credence to His Excellency President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu earlier this morning.

Minister Iruthisham congratulated Ambassador Dr. Some on his appointment as the Ambassador of Burkina Faso accredited to the Maldives and expressed confidence that his appointment would contribute to strengthening cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, the Minister reaffirmed the Maldives’ commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Burkina Faso and enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The Minister also underscored the importance of closer engagement with African countries. 

The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to advancing friendly relations and exploring new opportunities for cooperation for the mutual benefit of the peoples of the Maldives and Burkina Faso.

Foreign Minister Iruthisham was accompanied by Foreign Secretary Her Excellency Fathimath Inaya, Secretary Her Excellency Dr. Hala Hameed, Additional Secretary His Excellency Mohamed Faisal, Additional Secretary Khadeeja Najeeha, Senior Under Secretary Fathimath Naeema, and Assistant Director Mohamed Shujau.
