The newly appointed High Commissioner of the Republic of Ghana to the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso, paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency Iruthisham Adam, today, following the presentation of his Letters of Credence to His Excellency President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu earlier this morning.
Minister Iruthisham congratulated High Commissioner Professor Obiri-Danso on his appointment and expressed confidence that his tenure would contribute to further strengthening the cooperation between the Maldives and Ghana.
During the meeting, the Minister underscored the importance of high-level exchanges in maintaining the positive momentum in bilateral relations and reaffirmed the Maldives’ commitment to strengthening engagement with Ghana and African countries more broadly. The Minister also highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation through continued engagement, while also working closely together in multilateral fora.
Foreign Minister Iruthisham was accompanied by Foreign Secretary Her Excellency Fathimath Inaya, Secretary, Her Excellency Dr. Hala Hameed, Additional Secretary Khadeeja Najeeha, Deputy Minister Mohamed Farhad, and Senior Under Secretary Fathimath Naeema.
