The newly appointed Non-Resident Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency Dr. Abdullahi Mohammed Odowa, paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency Iruthisham Adam, following the presentation of his Letters of Credence to His Excellency President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu earlier today.
Minister Iruthisham congratulated Ambassador Dr. Odowa on his appointment and expressed confidence that his tenure would contribute to strengthening the relations between the Maldives and Somalia.
During the meeting, the Minister reaffirmed the Maldives’ commitment to strengthening the relations with Somalia in areas of mutual interest. The Minister and the Ambassador also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interest.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to further strengthening the cooperation between the Maldives and Somalia for the mutual benefit of the peoples of both countries.
Foreign Minister Iruthisham was accompanied by Secretary Her Excellency Dr. Hala Hameed, Minister of State, Her Excellency Uza. Lubna Mohamed Zahir Hussain, Additional Secretary Khadeeja Najeeha, Senior Under Secretary Fathimath Naeema, and Deputy Desk Officer Fathmath Layana Ihusan.
