The newly appointed Non-Resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Maldives to the State of Palestine, presented his Letters of Credence to Her Excellency Dr. Aghabekian Varsen, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine today at a ceremony held virtually.
During the meeting that followed the ceremony, Ambassador Dr. Zuhuree conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, and the people of the Maldives, to President Mahmoud Abbas and the brotherly people of Palestine.
Ambassador Dr. Zuhuree further expressed deep appreciation for the longstanding bonds of friendship and cooperation between Maldives and Palestine and reaffirmed commitment to working diligently to elevate the bilateral relations between the Maldives and the State of Palestine to greater heights during his tenure.
Ambassador Dr. Zuhuree reiterated that the Maldives remains unwavering in its steadfast support for the Palestinian cause and reaffirmed its commitment to recognizing an independent and sovereign State of Palestine, based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and the realisation of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Palestine congratulated Ambassador Dr. Zuhuree on his appointment and extended best wishes for a successful tenure as the Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the State of Palestine.
Ambassador Dr. Zuhuree will serve as the Ambassador, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Maldives to the State of Palestine with residency in Male’, Maldives.
Ambassador Dr. Zuhuree was accompanied at the virtual ceremony by Additional Secretary Khadeeja Najeeha, Senior-Under Secretary Fathimath Naeema, Assistant Director Fathimath Reena, and Deputy Desk Officer Fathmath Layana Ihusan.
